What part of speech is request?

"Request" can be a few different parts of speech, depending on how it's used in a sentence:

* Noun: A formal or polite demand for something.

* Verb: To ask for something politely or formally.

Here are some examples:

Noun:

* "I sent a request for information." (Here, "request" is the object of the sentence.)

* "The customer's requests were unreasonable." (Here, "requests" is the subject of the sentence.)

Verb:

* "I request that you leave now." (Here, "request" is the verb, followed by a clause.)

* "She requested a refund." (Here, "requested" is the verb, followed by an object.)

So, without context, it's impossible to definitively say what part of speech "request" is. You have to look at how it's used in the sentence.
