Are there two different pig latins?

There is no single, universally agreed upon "Pig Latin" language. It's more of a family of related word games with variations in how the rules are applied.

Here are the two main ways people typically think about "Pig Latin":

1. The Classic "Pig Latin": This is the most commonly known version. It involves moving the first letter of a word to the end and adding "ay" to it. For example:

* "hello" becomes "ellohay"

* "apple" becomes "appleay"

2. "Pig Latin" with Vowel Movement: This version is less common but still exists. Here, the first vowel of the word is moved to the end, and "ay" is added. If the first letter is a vowel, then it's moved to the end with "ay." For example:

* "hello" becomes "ohelloy"

* "apple" becomes "eappley"

So, while there isn't one specific "Pig Latin" language, there are two main variations that people use. Both are informal games and not serious languages, but they highlight the flexibility and creativity of language play.
