countries have bengali as an official language?

There are two countries where Bengali is an official language:

1. Bangladesh: Bengali is the national and official language of Bangladesh.

2. India: Bengali is one of the 22 scheduled languages of India and is the official language of the state of West Bengal, as well as parts of Tripura and Assam.

While it's not an official language, Bengali is also spoken by significant communities in other countries like:

* Pakistan: There are many Bengali speakers in the Chittagong Hill Tracts region of eastern Bangladesh.

* United Kingdom: A large Bengali diaspora exists in the UK, particularly in London.

* United States: A growing number of Bengali speakers live in the U.S., especially in New York City and surrounding areas.

So, while only Bangladesh and India have Bengali as an official language, it's spoken and cherished by people across the globe.
