What two languages combine to form Swahili?

Swahili is primarily a combination of two languages:

* Arabic: Arabic contributed significantly to Swahili's vocabulary, particularly words relating to trade, religion, and government.

* Bantu languages: Swahili is based on a Bantu language, specifically the Kiswahili dialect spoken in the coastal regions of East Africa.

While these are the core languages, Swahili also borrows words from other languages such as English, Portuguese, and German.
