What languages are know as Romance languages?

The Romance languages are a group of languages that descended from Vulgar Latin, the language spoken by the common people of the Roman Empire. They are known as Romance languages because they evolved from the language of ancient Rome.

Here are some of the major Romance languages:

* Western Romance:

* Ibero-Romance: Spanish, Portuguese, Catalan, Galician, Astur-Leonese

* Gallo-Romance: French, Occitan, Romansh, Franco-Provençal

* Italo-Romance: Italian, Sardinian, Romanian, Friulian, Ladin

* Eastern Romance:

* Romanian: Romanian, Moldovan, Aromanian, Megleno-Romanian

There are also numerous other Romance languages, including:

* Mozarabic: A Romance language spoken in the Iberian Peninsula that was eventually replaced by Spanish and Portuguese.

* Dalmatian: A Romance language spoken in Dalmatia, Croatia, that is now extinct.

* Rhaeto-Romance: A group of Romance languages spoken in the Alps, including Romansh, Ladin, and Friulian.

The Romance languages are spoken by over 800 million people worldwide, making them one of the largest language families in the world. They share many similarities in their grammar, vocabulary, and phonology, making them relatively easy to learn for speakers of other Romance languages.
