Which countries use ASL?

American Sign Language (ASL) is primarily used in the United States and Canada. While there are some similarities with other sign languages, ASL is distinct and has its own unique grammar and vocabulary.

It's important to note that:

* Other countries have their own sign languages. For example, British Sign Language (BSL) is used in the UK, and French Sign Language (LSF) is used in France.

* ASL is used by Deaf communities in the US and Canada, regardless of their heritage.

So, while ASL is mainly associated with the US and Canada, it's not exclusive to people of any particular nationality.
