What language has more words?

It's impossible to say definitively which language has the most words. Here's why:

* Defining "word" is tricky: Different languages have different rules for what counts as a separate word. Some languages have many compound words, while others have more single-word concepts.

* Counting is extremely difficult: Even if we could agree on what a word is, it's incredibly difficult to count all the words in a language. Dictionaries often only include a subset of words, and new words are constantly being created.

* Regional and dialectal variations: Even within one language, there can be significant regional variations in vocabulary.

That being said, some languages are known for having exceptionally large vocabularies:

* German: Known for its compound words, German can create new words by combining existing ones.

* Japanese: Has a large number of characters (kanji) that can be combined to create new words.

* Sanskrit: An ancient language with a rich vocabulary, it's considered a source language for many other languages.

While it's impossible to crown a definitive "word champion," it's fascinating to explore the diversity of vocabulary across languages.
