What are the three Chinese languages?

It's not quite accurate to say there are "three Chinese languages". The situation is a bit more complex:

* Mandarin is the most widely spoken variety of Chinese, used by over 900 million people. It's often referred to as "Standard Chinese" and is the official language of mainland China, Taiwan, and Singapore.

* Cantonese is another major variety, spoken by about 60 million people, primarily in Hong Kong, Macau, and parts of Guangdong province.

* Min is actually a family of languages, not a single language, with numerous dialects spoken in Fujian and parts of Taiwan.

So, while Mandarin, Cantonese, and Min are three prominent varieties, there are many other regional languages and dialects spoken in China, such as Wu, Hakka, and Xiang.

It's important to note that all these varieties are considered dialects of the same language, Chinese. They share a common written system and many linguistic features, making them mutually intelligible to some degree.
