Do any people in the world still speak Latin?

While Latin is no longer a spoken language in the sense of being a native tongue for any large population, there are people who do speak Latin in the following ways:

* Religious Context: The Catholic Church still uses Latin for liturgical purposes, especially in formal ceremonies like Mass. Priests, bishops, and other clergy are trained in Latin, and some communities still regularly participate in Latin-language services.

* Academic Settings: Scholars and students of Classics often study and speak Latin as part of their education. They may use it for research, discussions, or even casual conversation among themselves.

* Reconstructionist Groups: Some groups are actively trying to revive Latin as a living language, often by creating neologisms and adapting it to modern contexts. While these attempts haven't achieved widespread use, they demonstrate the ongoing fascination with the language.

So, while no one has Latin as their native language, it still exists in certain circles and serves specific purposes.
