Where do people speak Galician?

Galician is primarily spoken in Galicia, a region in northwestern Spain. It is the official language of this autonomous community, alongside Spanish.

While the majority of Galician speakers reside in Galicia, the language is also spoken by smaller communities in:

* Other parts of Spain: Some areas bordering Galicia, particularly in Asturias and northern Portugal, have pockets of Galician speakers.

* Latin America: A small number of Galician emigrants and their descendants live in countries like Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil.

It's important to note that the number of Galician speakers outside Galicia is significantly smaller than within the region.
