What countries speak Afrikaans?

Afrikaans is primarily spoken in South Africa, where it is one of the eleven official languages.

While not an official language, Afrikaans is also spoken by significant populations in:

* Namibia: It's considered a national language alongside English.

* Botswana: A smaller community of Afrikaans speakers exists in Botswana.

It's important to note that the number of Afrikaans speakers in these countries is considerably smaller than in South Africa.

Beyond these countries, there are smaller pockets of Afrikaans speakers around the world, primarily due to emigration and historical ties to South Africa.
