What do Russians call their country?

Russians call their country Россия (Rossiya) in Russian.

It is pronounced roughly as "Ross-ee-ya".

You may also hear it referred to as Российская Федерация (Rossiyskaya Federatsiya), which translates to "Russian Federation". This is the official name of the country, but Россия is the more common and casual term used by Russians themselves.
