What countries speak Ukrainian?

Ukrainian is the official language of Ukraine.

While Ukrainian is the dominant language in Ukraine, it's also spoken by significant communities in other countries, particularly:

* Russia: There is a large Ukrainian diaspora in Russia, particularly in the regions bordering Ukraine.

* Belarus: Belarusian and Ukrainian are closely related languages, and there is a significant Ukrainian-speaking population in Belarus, especially in the western regions.

* Poland: Poland shares a long border with Ukraine and has a substantial Ukrainian minority.

* Moldova: While Moldovan is officially considered a separate language, it is essentially Romanian with a strong Ukrainian influence, and many Moldovans speak Ukrainian.

* Canada: Canada has a sizeable Ukrainian diaspora, particularly in the provinces of Manitoba and Alberta.

* United States: There is also a significant Ukrainian community in the United States, especially in cities like New York, Chicago, and Philadelphia.

It's important to note that the number of Ukrainian speakers in these countries varies significantly, and many individuals may be bilingual or multilingual.
