Where is Quechua spoken?

Quechua is spoken in South America, primarily in the Andean region that encompasses parts of:

* Peru: Quechua is the second most spoken language after Spanish, with around 8 million speakers.

* Bolivia: About 2.7 million people speak Quechua, making it the country's second most spoken language.

* Ecuador: Around 1.5 million people speak Quechua, mostly in the highlands.

* Colombia: A smaller population of Quechua speakers exists in the southern parts of the country.

* Argentina: Quechua is spoken in the northwestern provinces, mostly among indigenous communities.

* Chile: Quechua is spoken in the northern regions, primarily in the Atacama Desert.

Important note: The Quechua language has many different dialects, which are not always mutually intelligible. This means that speakers of different dialects may not be able to understand each other easily.
