What royal German family still rules where the country speaks German?

There are no royal families that currently rule in Germany.

Germany became a republic in 1918, ending the reign of the Hohenzollern dynasty. While there are still descendants of the Hohenzollerns, they hold no political power in Germany.

It's important to note that:

* Germany is a federal republic, meaning it's a democracy with an elected government.

* Monarchy was abolished in Germany after World War I, and there are no plans to reinstate it.

While some European countries still have monarchies, Germany is a republic and has no reigning royal family.
