Specifically, the Finnic branch of the Uralic family is spoken in northern Finland, northern Sweden, and parts of Norway. These languages include Finnish, Estonian, Sami languages (including Northern Sami, Inari Sami, and Skolt Sami), and others.
While the Indo-European language family (primarily Germanic languages) dominates much of Europe, the Uralic languages represent a distinct linguistic lineage in the north.
