Is Japanese read right to left or right?

Japanese is read from left to right, just like English.

However, there are some specific cases to remember:

* Vertical writing: Some traditional texts and signs are written vertically, from top to bottom. In this case, the columns are read from right to left.

* Manga and comics: These are read from right to left, like in many other Asian comics.

* Within a sentence: While the overall text is read from left to right, individual words and characters within a sentence can be written in different directions, depending on the context.

So, while the general rule is left to right, it's important to be aware of these exceptions!
