How do you sign word new in ASL?

You sign "new" in ASL by making the following signs:

1. "N" handshape: Form your dominant hand into the "N" handshape, with your thumb and index finger extended and touching, and your other fingers closed.

2. "NEW" sign: Move your "N" handshape from your forehead downwards, towards the palm of your non-dominant hand, which is held in a flat position.

Important note: The movement of the sign should be smooth and flowing. You can also use facial expressions, such as raising your eyebrows, to emphasize the meaning of the word.
