How do you get e with umlaut in Word 2010?

There are two main ways to get the "e" with an umlaut (ä) in Word 2010:

1. Using the Character Map:

* Go to Insert tab.

* In the Symbols group, click on Symbol.

* Select More Symbols...

* In the Font dropdown, choose the font you want to use (e.g., Arial, Times New Roman).

* In the Character code box, type 00E4 (this is the Unicode code for "ä").

* Click Insert and then Close.

2. Using the Keyboard Shortcut:

* Hold down the Alt key and type 0228 on the numeric keypad.

* Release the Alt key.

This will insert the "ä" character into your document.

Important Notes:

* Make sure the Num Lock key is activated for the keyboard shortcut to work.

* This method will work for other umlauts as well. You just need to look up the corresponding Unicode code for each character.

* If you're using a different version of Word, the specific steps might be slightly different, but the general idea is the same.
