Does Swedish have the alphabet w?

Swedish does not have the letter "w" in its alphabet.

However, the sound represented by "w" in English does exist in Swedish, but it is spelled "v".

For example:

* "water" in English is "vatten" in Swedish

* "world" in English is "värld" in Swedish

So, while Swedish doesn't have a "w" in its alphabet, it has the sound, just spelled differently!
