Adjectives can only be used before nouns?

That's not entirely true! While adjectives are often placed *before* the noun they modify, they can also be used in several other ways:

1. After a linking verb:

* The flowers are beautiful.

* She seems nervous.

* He felt happy.

2. After certain verbs:

* We found the movie boring.

* They consider him reliable.

* I painted the walls blue.

3. In a predicate adjective construction:

* The cake was delicious.

* The dog is friendly.

4. After a noun:

* The house, red and white, is very charming.

* I saw a bird, blue and yellow.

5. In some cases, adjectives can be used as nouns:

* The poor need help.

* The rich get richer.

So, while adjectives are frequently used before nouns, they have a versatile role in the English language and can be used in various positions depending on the context.
