How do you change a declarative sentence into question?

Here's how to change a declarative sentence into a question:

1. Start with a Question Word (if applicable):

* Who, What, When, Where, Why, How - These words introduce questions that seek specific information.

* Example: "The dog is sleeping." --> "Where is the dog sleeping?"

* If - Use "if" for yes/no questions.

* Example: "He is happy." --> "If he is happy."

2. Inversion:

* Invert the subject and the verb:

* Example: "The birds are singing." --> "Are the birds singing?"

* Use "do" or "does" for questions in the present tense:

* Example: "She likes pizza." --> "Does she like pizza?"

* Use "did" for questions in the past tense:

* Example: "They went to the store." --> "Did they go to the store?"

3. Add a question mark at the end.

Examples:

* Declarative: The cat is on the mat.

* Question: Is the cat on the mat?

* Declarative: They ate breakfast.

* Question: Did they eat breakfast?

* Declarative: She is a doctor.

* Question: What is she?

* Declarative: He went to the park yesterday.

* Question: When did he go to the park?
