Where is one place the topic sentence should never be?

The topic sentence should never be in the last sentence of a paragraph.

Here's why:

* Clarity: The topic sentence introduces the main idea of the paragraph. Placing it at the end creates confusion for the reader, as they have to wait until the end to understand what the paragraph is about.

* Flow: A well-structured paragraph flows smoothly from the topic sentence to supporting details. Ending with the topic sentence disrupts this flow.

* Emphasis: The topic sentence is the most important sentence in a paragraph. Placing it at the end diminishes its importance.

Instead, the topic sentence should always be the first sentence of a paragraph. This sets the stage for the rest of the paragraph and helps readers understand the main point being made.
