Where does the word QWERTY come from?

The word "QWERTY" comes from the first six letters of the top row of the standard English keyboard layout. This layout is called the QWERTY keyboard and was designed by Christopher Latham Sholes in the 1870s.

While the layout itself has been refined over the years, the name "QWERTY" has stuck, becoming a widely recognized symbol for the standard keyboard.
