Who was the man many called father of American dictionary?

The man many call the "father of the American dictionary" is Noah Webster.

While he didn't create the first American dictionary, his "An American Dictionary of the English Language" (published in 1828) was groundbreaking for its focus on American English and its standardization of spelling and pronunciation. It established many of the spelling differences between American and British English, like "color" vs. "colour".

His work significantly influenced the development of American English and its vocabulary, earning him the title of "father of the American dictionary."
