Where did word Lilliputian come from?

The word "Lilliputian" comes from Jonathan Swift's satirical novel *Gulliver's Travels*, published in 1726. In the novel, the protagonist, Lemuel Gulliver, is shipwrecked and wakes up on the island of Lilliput, inhabited by tiny people who are only six inches tall.

Swift used the term "Lilliputian" to describe the small size and the seemingly insignificant nature of the Lilliputians, and the word has since become a common adjective to describe anything that is very small or insignificant.

So, the next time you encounter something incredibly tiny, you can confidently call it "Lilliputian" and impress your friends with your knowledge of classic literature!
