What language did Saint Andrew speak?

Saint Andrew, being a first-century Galilean Jew, would have spoken Aramaic.

Here's why:

* Region: Galilee, where Andrew lived, was a predominantly Aramaic-speaking region.

* Time Period: During the time of Jesus and his disciples, Aramaic was the common language of the people, even though Hebrew was still the language of religious texts.

* Evidence: There are some references in the Gospels to Jesus speaking Aramaic, suggesting his disciples would have also spoken it.

While it's possible Andrew might have spoken some Greek, it's less likely to have been his primary language. Greek was more common in urban areas and among the ruling class.
