Where does the huia come from?

The huia (pronounced "hoo-ee-ah") is a bird that is native to New Zealand.

It was once found in the North Island of New Zealand, specifically in the forests of the central and northern areas.

Sadly, the huia is extinct and hasn't been seen in the wild since the early 1900s. This extinction was primarily caused by human activity, including habitat loss and hunting for its feathers and beak.
