What state did the spanish cession become?

The Spanish Cession, also known as the Louisiana Purchase, did not become a single state. It was a vast territory acquired by the United States from France in 1803. This territory encompassed land that eventually became part of 15 states:

* Louisiana

* Arkansas

* Missouri

* Iowa

* Oklahoma

* Kansas

* Nebraska

* South Dakota

* North Dakota

* Montana

* Wyoming

* Colorado

* New Mexico

* Texas (partially)

* Minnesota (partially)

It's important to note that the Louisiana Purchase was originally acquired from France, not Spain. Spain had briefly controlled the region in the late 18th century, but ceded it back to France in 1800.
