WHAT LANGUAGE DO PAWNEE TALK?

The Pawnee people historically spoke Pawnee, a language that is part of the Caddoan language family.

However, it's important to note that:

* Pawnee is now considered a critically endangered language. Only a handful of elderly speakers remain, and the language is no longer passed down to younger generations.

* Many Pawnee people now speak English as their primary language.

While the Pawnee language is facing a serious threat of extinction, there are efforts to revitalize and preserve it. These efforts include language classes, dictionaries, and cultural immersion programs.
