Are you American if were born in America but speak Russian?

Being American is about more than just where you were born or what language you speak. Here's why:

* Citizenship: If you were born in the United States, you are likely a US citizen, which is a legal status and a key aspect of American identity.

* Culture: American culture is diverse and includes people from all backgrounds. Speaking Russian doesn't diminish your American identity, but it might add another layer to it. You could be considered bicultural.

* Identity: Ultimately, your personal sense of identity is up to you. You might feel strongly American, even if you speak Russian, or you might identify with both cultures.

It's important to remember that nationality and identity are complex and personal. You can be both American and have strong ties to your heritage or language.
