What was French curreny?

The French currency has gone through several changes throughout history:

Historically:

* French Franc (FRF): This was the official currency of France from 1795 to 1999. It was replaced by the Euro.

* French Livre: This was the currency of France before the French Revolution.

Currently:

* Euro (EUR): France adopted the Euro as its currency on January 1, 1999. While they still issue their own Euro coins with French designs, the Euro is a shared currency used by 19 countries in the Eurozone.

Therefore, while the French Franc was the official currency of France for over two centuries, the Euro is the current currency used in France.
