What language does the Nordic Countries speak?

The Nordic countries, which include Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, speak a variety of languages:

* Danish is spoken in Denmark, Greenland, and parts of Germany.

* Finnish is spoken in Finland and parts of Sweden.

* Icelandic is spoken in Iceland.

* Norwegian is spoken in Norway.

* Swedish is spoken in Sweden and parts of Finland.

While all these languages are part of the North Germanic branch of the Indo-European language family, they are distinct and mutually unintelligible.

However, due to historical and cultural ties, speakers of these languages often have a degree of understanding of each other's languages.
