What was the language that replaced cuneiform?

Cuneiform was gradually replaced by Greek and Aramaic in different parts of the Middle East.

* Greek became the dominant language for administration and commerce in the Hellenistic period, especially in areas under Greek influence.

* Aramaic, a Semitic language, became the lingua franca for trade and diplomacy across the Middle East, particularly in the Persian Empire.

However, it's important to note that cuneiform didn't disappear overnight. It continued to be used in some regions and for specific purposes for centuries after the rise of Greek and Aramaic.
