Which English king never spoke language?

This is a bit of a trick question! All English kings, even the earliest ones, spoke *some* language.

However, you might be thinking of William the Conqueror, who invaded England in 1066. He spoke Norman French, not English, and his court continued to use French for many years after the conquest.

So, while he *did* speak a language, he didn't speak the language of the majority of the people he ruled over.
