What language does the word tango come from?

The word "tango" is believed to have originated from Kongo, a Bantu language spoken in Central Africa.

It is thought to have been brought to South America by African slaves during the 18th century. The word in Kongo, "ntango", meant "gathering" or "place of assembly," which is thought to have evolved into "tango" to describe the dances that took place at these gatherings.
