The Iroquoian language family was primarily spoken in the Northeastern United States and Southeastern Canada.
Some well-known Iroquoian-speaking groups include:
* Mohawk
* Oneida
* Onondaga
* Cayuga
* Seneca
* Tuscarora
These groups were located in what is now New York, Pennsylvania, Ontario, and Quebec.
Virginia, on the other hand, was primarily inhabited by Algonquian-speaking groups, such as the Powhatan Confederacy.
