Who invented the Chinese alphabet?

It's important to understand that Chinese doesn't have an alphabet in the way that English, French, or Spanish do.

Chinese writing system is logographic: This means that each character represents a word or morpheme (meaningful unit of language), not a single sound.

Origin of Chinese Writing:

* While the exact origins are unknown, it's believed to have evolved from pictographs (pictures representing objects) around the 16th century BC during the Shang dynasty.

* Over time, the pictographs became more stylized and abstract, evolving into the characters we know today.

Therefore, there wasn't a single inventor of the Chinese writing system. It emerged and developed gradually over centuries with contributions from many individuals and dynasties.
