What language is dungaree?

"Dungaree" is a word of Hindi origin. It comes from the town of Dungri, which is located in the state of Gujarat, India.

The word originally referred to a type of strong, durable cotton cloth that was made in Dungri. This cloth was later used to make the sturdy workwear trousers now known as dungarees.
