What language did the normans speak before Normandy?

The Normans, before they conquered Normandy, spoke Old Norse.

They were Vikings who migrated from Scandinavia to the region of Normandy in the 10th century. They gradually adopted the language of the local inhabitants, which was a form of Old French, eventually leading to the development of the Norman language. However, their original tongue was Old Norse, a language closely related to modern Icelandic and Swedish.
