How many people speak English language as their first language?

It's impossible to give an exact number of people who speak English as their first language.

Here's why:

* No official global census: There is no single, accurate census that tracks language use worldwide.

* Varying definitions of "first language": What constitutes a "first language" can be subjective. It could be the language a person was exposed to at birth, the language they speak most fluently, or the language they identify with most strongly.

* Constantly changing populations: Language use evolves over time due to factors like migration, education, and globalization.

However, estimates suggest that around 375 million to 400 million people worldwide use English as their native language.

Keep in mind that this is an estimate, and the actual number could be higher or lower.
