What was Origin of the word Television?

The word "television" is a combination of two Greek words:

* tele (meaning "far" or "distant")

* vision (meaning "sight" or "seeing")

Therefore, "television" literally means "seeing from afar".

It was coined in 1907 by Russian scientist Boris Rosing, who was one of the pioneers in the development of television. However, the term didn't become widely used until the 1920s when the technology started to gain traction.
