What is the polish alphabet?

The Polish alphabet is based on the Latin alphabet, but it has a few additional letters and diacritical marks:

Basic Letters:

A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, Ł, M, N, O, P, R, S, T, U, W, Y, Z, Ź, Ż

Additional Letters:

* Ą (pronounced like "on" in "on")

* Ć (pronounced like "ch" in "church")

* Ę (pronounced like "en" in "pen")

* Ó (pronounced like "oo" in "moon")

* Ś (pronounced like "sh" in "ship")

* ó (pronounced like "o" in "hot")

Diacritical Marks:

* ´ (above "a", "e", "i", "o", "u", "y") - modifies the vowel sound

* ^ (above "a", "e", "i", "o", "u", "y") - modifies the vowel sound

* ¨ (above "o") - modifies the vowel sound

* ' (above "z") - modifies the vowel sound

Note:

* The letters Ł and ó are not found in the basic Latin alphabet.

* Some letters with diacritical marks can be pronounced differently depending on the word.
