How do you say no in sign language?

There are two main signs for "no" in American Sign Language (ASL):

1. The "No" Sign:

* Palm: Facing outward

* Fingers: Index and middle fingers extended, other fingers closed

* Movement: Shake the fingers side-to-side, like you're shaking your head "no".

2. The "Headshake" Sign:

* Palm: Not relevant

* Fingers: Not relevant

* Movement: Shake your head from side to side, similar to how you would shake your head to indicate "no" in spoken language.

Both signs are commonly used and understood. Which one you choose depends on the context of the conversation and your personal preference.

Remember that sign language varies by region, so the signs for "no" may differ slightly in other sign languages.
