What do most Tibetan people speak?

Most Tibetan people speak Tibetan, a language spoken by over 6 million people primarily in the Tibetan Plateau, which includes regions of China, India, Nepal, and Bhutan.

It's important to note that Tibetan is not a single, uniform language. It has many dialects, with the two most prominent being:

* Central Tibetan: Spoken in Lhasa and surrounding areas, it's the standard language of the Tibetan government and used in education and media.

* Amdo Tibetan: Spoken in the Amdo region of Qinghai province, China, it's distinct from Central Tibetan in pronunciation and grammar.

Other significant dialects include Kham Tibetan, Ladakhi, and Dzongkha (the official language of Bhutan).

While Tibetan is the primary language for most Tibetans, many also speak Chinese due to the influence of the Chinese government. In India and Nepal, Tibetan speakers often also speak Hindi or Nepali.
