How do you say hello in timbuktu?

There is no single "hello" in Timbuktu.

* The official language of Mali, where Timbuktu is located, is Bambara. In Bambara, you would say "I ni" (pronounced "ee nee") to greet someone.

* However, in Timbuktu, many people also speak Tamasheq (Tuareg language). In Tamasheq, a greeting is "Anaba" (pronounced "an-ah-bah").

* Arabic is also widely spoken. In Arabic, you could say "Salam" (pronounced "sa-lam") which means "peace" and is used as a greeting.

So, depending on who you are talking to, you could use any of these greetings!
