How do you say happy birthday in American Sign Language?

There are two ways to say "Happy Birthday" in American Sign Language (ASL):

1. The most common way:

* "Happy" Sign: Make a "C" handshape, palm facing you, and move it in a circular motion around your face.

* "Birthday" Sign: Make a "B" handshape, palm facing you, and move it back and forth across your chest.

2. A more literal translation:

* "You" Sign: Point to yourself.

* "Birthday" Sign: Same as above.

* "Happy" Sign: Same as above.

You can sign either one of these ways to wish someone a happy birthday in ASL. The second way, while being a more literal translation, is less common.

Remember, ASL is a visual language, so it's important to pay attention to facial expressions and body language when signing. A big smile and a happy expression will make your birthday wishes even more meaningful!
