In Language Arts when do you use I or Me?

Here's a simple way to remember when to use "I" or "me" in Language Arts:

Think about the subject and the object:

* Subject: The subject of a sentence is the one performing the action. Use "I" when you are the subject.

* Example: *I* went to the store. (You are the one going)

* Object: The object of a sentence receives the action. Use "me" when you are the object.

* Example: My friend gave the gift to *me*. (You are receiving the gift)

Here are some helpful tips:

* If you can replace the word with "he" or "she," use "I."

* Example: *I* like pizza. (He likes pizza)

* If you can replace the word with "him" or "her," use "me."

* Example: My dad gave the book to *me*. (My dad gave the book to him)

Common Mistakes

* Between you and me: This is correct. "Me" is the object of the preposition "between."

* It was him/her: This is correct. "Him" and "her" are the objects of the verb "was."

Remember: When you are unsure, try substituting "he/she" or "him/her" to see which word fits grammatically!
