What is the definition of suffix -scrib?

The suffix "-scrib" is a combination of two Latin roots:

* -scribe: Meaning "to write" or "to mark."

* -script: Meaning "written" or "something written."

The suffix "-scrib" usually indicates:

* Writing or marking: Like in "describe" (to write about something) or "inscribe" (to write on a surface).

* A written document: Like in "manuscript" (a handwritten document) or "prescription" (a written instruction from a doctor).

Examples:

* Describe: To write about something in detail.

* Inscribe: To write or carve words or symbols on a surface.

* Prescribe: To write a medical instruction for a patient.

* Subscribe: To sign your name to a document or to agree to receive something regularly.

Note: The suffix "-scribe" is often combined with other prefixes and suffixes to form new words, such as "circum-" (around), "post-" (after), or "-tion" (action or process).
