Is turn a prefix or suffix?

"Turn" is neither a prefix nor a suffix. It is a root word on its own.

Here's why:

* Prefixes are added to the beginning of a word to change its meaning. Examples include "un-", "re-", "pre-".

* Suffixes are added to the end of a word to change its meaning or grammatical function. Examples include "-ing", "-ly", "-ness".

"Turn" can be used independently as a verb, noun, or adjective.

Examples:

* Verb: "Please turn the page."

* Noun: "Take a left turn at the corner."

* Adjective: "It's a turn of events."
